The Dutch EMC-ESD Association is an association of approximately 150 professionals in the field of EMC and/or ESD. The association has a wide range of members who have in common that they are professionally involved in the field within their company, institution or organization. This can be as an expert, or intermediary of information, or as a supplier or user of information, services or products and materials.

The experts conduct research, develop, advise and teach, but they usually engage in a combination of these activities. This group of members, referred to within the association as the 'professional colleagues', forms the hard core of the knowledge network formed by the association. It is also this group that stood at the cradle of the association (initially as two separate associations for EMC and ESD, later merged into EMC-ESD).

Over the years, the association has expanded to include other categories of members, such as suppliers of materials, test and measuring equipment, intermediaries, i.e. persons who mediate, in whatever way, in the knowledge within the association and 'last but not least' the users, i.e. all those persons who have primarily joined the association to acquire knowledge in their field.

Objective

The association's objective is to promote knowledge in the field of EMC and ESD and the exchange of (technical) information among members. The association hopes to achieve these goals by organizing meetings, events and activities for and with members. In addition, the association has working and task groups that deal with various themes of EMC and/or ESD. Due to the increasing number of members with various backgrounds and activities in the field of EMC and ESD, the association's networking function is important.

The most important function of the association is to maintain and further expand this knowledge network.
