End users rely on the safety and quality of products and services. The risks for the end user are minimized by the combination of standards, the TIC sector that deals with testing, inspection and certification and the Accreditation Council.<\/p>\n<p>In the seminar \u201cQuality, why so important?\u201d experts from KIWA, Lab-QAcademy and VSL will talk about the efforts that are made to achieve, control and guarantee the desired quality. class=\"text__content text__content--1-col\">\n\t\t\t<p>The quality infrastructure consists of companies and organisations that are committed to the safety, reliability, quality and sustainability of products and services in various sectors. Through a coherent system of standardisation, testing, certification and supervision, they ensure that organisations and consumers can trust what they buy and use. The aim of the quality infrastructure is to contribute to the safety and quality of products and services and thus also to promote innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The quality infrastructure has united as a platform. It works on its reputation with the aim of making the &#039;BV Nederland&#039; better, safer and more sustainable. In the Netherlands, you must go to the Dutch Accreditation Council, a non-profit independent administrative body. What is the value of an RvA accreditation, in the Netherlands, in Europe and worldwide? Two accreditation standards apply to laboratories, the ISO\/IEC 17025 for test and calibration laboratories and the ISO 15189, based on the ISO\/IEC 17025, for medical laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>Both standards are tough and boring and besides reading the mentioned requirements also have to be interpreted to the own organization. In general these tasks are assigned to the quality manager (\u201chowever named\u201d) while the management of the laboratory should also know the content of the standard and be able to apply it. Principles can help with this, in other words: if you don&#039;t have a map, you need a compass. Principles replace blindly following the requirements of the standard with the understanding that ensures confidence in a system that should continuously deliver valid results. With knowledge of the principles the standard can be better interpreted and applied. And what do those terms on the calibration certificate actually mean?
